Obtaining a Wedding License in New Mexico

Marriage licensees for your New Mexico wedding are issued by the county clerks in the various counties within New Mexico.

You will usually find the county clerks office inside the county courthouse. Both man and woman must be present to get the license. Each one needs a picture ID and your Social Security card. It will cost you $25.00. No Blood test is needed. If your under 18 years old, there are certain requirements that you have to follow, Please call the clerks office to found out more. It only takes a few minutes to get your license.

Don't forget to bring your license to the ceremony. Once the bride and groom, 2 witnesses and the minister or officiate have signed your return license to the clerks office that issued it. You may mail it or take it in yourself. The license will be recorded and returned to you.
